How do I get started on iPhone, Android or desktop?

  1. Open ProteinLook in your browser. Start with registration or optionally try a photo or written meal description first.
  2. Create your free account to save meals. You do not have to complete the test before signing up.
  3. Use the browser app or add it to your home screen. On iPhone, find the option in Safari under Share; on Android, use the Chrome menu if your browser offers it.
  4. Set a goal and log your first meal. AI analysis and account access need an internet connection.

Can I use ProteinLook without signing up?

You can try ProteinLook without signing up, but ongoing anonymous tracking is not available. Saving meals, daily totals and history requires a free account. No subscription does not mean no registration.

The no-account test is intentionally limited. You will be asked to sign up for free for more photos and tracking, not to buy a subscription. Direct registration is always available.

What should I check in a free calorie app?

  • Input: do you want to photograph food, describe it or scan barcodes? ProteinLook supports photos and text, not barcode scanning.
  • Corrections: AI estimates should be reviewable. In your ProteinLook account, correct ingredients and portions through chat.
  • Limits: no photo app automatically knows every recipe or exact oil quantity. Use known amounts and nutrition labels when available.
  • Privacy: photos are sent to an AI model for analysis. Your saved meal keeps a small thumbnail, not the original photo.
